특공무술(특전무술)은 대한민국 국군에서 특공 능력, 특전사 수행 능력, 신체 단련 등을 목적으로 개발한 창시무예입니다. Tukgong Moosul(Special Warfare Martial Arts) is a foundational martial art developed by the South Korean military to enhance specialized combat capabilities, commando mission proficiency, and physical conditioning.

대한민국 특전사·특공대·대통령 경호원들이 위기 상황이 생겼을 때 자기방어와 실전에 사용하기 위해 개발된 무예로, 개인의 역량강화를 위해 수련(훈련)하고 있습니다. This martial art was created to enable the South Korean Special Warfare Command, Commando Units, and Presidential Security personnel to defend themselves and engage effectively in real-world situations. Practitioners train to strengthen personal abilities through this discipline.

1958년 4월 1일 1전투단이 창설되고 1959년 ‘1공수 특전단’으로 부대명이 개칭되면서, 특수한 전투 및 상황수행을 위해 특전무술이란 명칭이 자연스럽게 사용됐고 또한 1969년 8월 18일 특수전 사령부가 창설되면서 대한민국 군을 기반으로 국민들에게 특공의 정신(력)과 체력 훈련을 통한 건강 도모에 기여했습니다. On April 1, 1958, the 1st Combat Group was established, later renamed the 1st Airborne Special Warfare Group in 1959. The term "Tukgong Moosul" naturally came into use to represent specialized combat and mission execution capabilities. Additionally, the establishment of the Special Warfare Command on August 18, 1969, contributed to strengthening the South Korean military’s commitment to developing physical and mental resilience among citizens.

세계특공무술연맹 이원익 총재는 5공수특수여단장 장기오 장군님의 지시로 군복무 당시 특공무술의 기본형을 익히고 습득하면서 미 2사단(동두천)에서 미군들에게 특공무술을 가르쳤고 제대 후 1982년 미국 텍사스 오스틴에 연맹본부를 설립 하고 특공무술의 이론을 재정립하고 각종 형을 완성 시켰으며 텍사스 주립대 (University of Texas at Austin)를 시작으로 미국에 특공무술을 보급했습니다. Grandmaster Yi Won-ik, current President of the World Tukgong Moosul Federation, learned the basics of Tukgong Moosul during his military service, following instructions from General Jang Gi-oh, commander of the 5th Airborne Special Brigade. During his service, Yi taught Tukgong Moosul to U.S. soldiers at the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division in Dongducheon. After discharge, he established the Federation Headquarters in Austin, Texas, in 1982, restructured the theory of Tukgong Moosul, and introduced it to the U.S., starting at the University of Texas at Austin.

이와 함께 1986년 4월 5일 당시 장기오 교육사령관 등 여러 군 실무자들이 텍사스 주립대를 방문하여 세계특공무술연맹 창립총회를 갖고 초대 총재로 장기오 장군님을 추대하였고 부총재로 현 이원익 총재님이 임명되었습니다. On April 5, 1986, General Jang Gi-oh and other military officials visited the University of Texas at Austin, where they held the founding meeting of the World Tukgong Moosul Federation. General Jang was appointed as the first president, with Yi Won-ik as vice president. Later, the Federation named General Jang as Honorary President and appointed Yi as President. Today, tens of thousands train in Tukgong Moosul across more than 450 dojang worldwide.

그 후 연맹은 장기오 장군님을 명예총재로 추대하였고 이원익 현 총재님을 세계특공무술연맹 총재로 추대하여 지금까지 세계 각국 450여 도장에서 수십만 명이 수련하고 있습니다.

저희 세계특공무술연맹은 창설 40주년을 맞이하여, 특공무술의 종주국인 대한민국에 사단법인을 설립했습니다. In celebration of the Federation’s 40th anniversary, we established a non-profit incorporated association in South Korea, the birthplace of Tukgong Moosul.
